Matching call
We arrange a preliminary call with you to assess compatibility with the service and the application.
Unfortunately, there are patients and individuals who are not suitable for the Active Lungs service:
– Patients with cardiac diseases (heart diseases)
– Patients with bilateral arm disability
– Patients whose respiratory physician chose not to approve for other health reasons
We offer our service only to patients we are 100% confident we can assist.
Sending medical documents
We kindly ask you to send us three important medical documents that will help us understand your background, the severity of the condition, and the required treatment:
1. Echocardiogram – valid for up to one year
2. Pulmonary Function Tests – valid for up to one year
3. Most recent medical summary
If you are unable to obtain these documents, please send us a letter from your family doctor or pulmonologist stating that “there is no contraindication to undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation activities.”
Respiratory Physical Examination
In order to build a personalized and specific plan for you, we need to conduct a brief physical respiratory examination to assess your capacity threshold. The examination lasts only ten minutes and does not require high physical exertion.
Starting to work with the application.
After installing the application, sending the documents, and completing the assessment, you will receive a personalized plan tailored to your specific needs and unique indicators.
The plan includes a series of simple exercises demonstrated visually in short videos and text, with a specific number of repetitions for each set.
Once you receive the plan, you’ll know exactly which exercises to perform and how often.
You’ll have clear goals for the coming weeks.
Each exercise lasts only 20-25 minutes.
It’s important to perform the exercises at least 3 times a week (preferably daily) to feel improvement!
Consistency is key.
Only by being consistent and performing the activities can you achieve significant improvement in your quality of life.
A personalized action plan tailored for you.
A personalized plan that includes instructional exercises captured on video aimed at increasing your range of abilities and enabling you to perform as many daily activities as possible.
The plan is regularly updated and focuses primarily on aerobic, strength, flexibility, precise breathing, and improving aerobic capacity – while providing guidance on accurate and proper breathing during and after exercise.
Real-time monitoring of metrics.
Real-time monitoring of vital metrics: oxygen saturation, heart rate, blood pressure, and subjective sensations, which are transmitted to us. Our algorithm is capable of detecting respiratory deterioration shortly before it occurs. It sends us an early warning so that we can send you recommendations, additional exercises, or alternative action plans. This is one of the reasons why the hospitalization rate among COPD patients using Active Lungs is minimal.
Education and self-learning
The Active Lungs app also includes a personalized learning and training program, something that is sorely lacking in hospitals today.
Within the app, you can learn:
– How to breathe correctly with lung diseases
– How to cope with specific scenarios and daily activities: climbing stairs, bathing, synchronizing inhalation and exhalation, and more. Just as an athlete synchronizes their breathing to reach the finish line, you need to know how to synchronize breathing with COPD.
– How to self-identify symptoms of respiratory distress
– How to increase your lung capacity through unique exercises
